I-85 in Davidson County reopens after earlier accident

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Interstate 85 at mile marker 94 in Davidson County has reopened after an earlier accident involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle.

Officials said tractor-trailer was traveling northbound in the center lane around 1:30 p.m. when a car veered into the left lane.

The tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the car and the car became lodged beneath the tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer and vehicle then traveled off the road, then back on the road before the car dislodged from beneath the truck and came to a stop on the right side of the highway.

The driver of the car was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The road reopened shortly before 2 p.m.
