Man robs Greensboro pharmacy with fire poker, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro police have arrested a man accused of using a fire poker to rob drugs from a pharmacy.

Charles Daniel Gillespie, 33, allegedly tried robbing the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1700 Battleground Avenue around 4:16 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the suspect approached the pharmacy with a fire poker demanding narcotics.

He was arrested and charged with armed robbery, police said.
