UNC warns of man who touches women’s feet
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — UNC Chapel Hill officials are warning students that a man convicted of touching women’s feet in unwanted ways may return to campus.
Christopher Jermain Deas, 37, of Asheboro, was recently arrested at UNC-Greensboro after officials said he crawled under tables in the library computer lab and started feeling women’s feet. He’s out on bond but has been banned from UNCG’s campus.
Deas was also arrested at Chapel Hill in 2011 after authorities told WTVD-TV that he went into classrooms and touched women’s feet. He was charged with three counts of assault on a female by unwanted touching of feet.
UNC public safety officials issued a campus warning to students Friday that Deas “is known to return to and frequent campuses” and described him as “a potentially dangerous person,” according to WRAL-TV.
Deas is believed to be driving a Honda Civic with a North Carolina license plate of ZSP-3472.
