High Point man charged with rape, child sex offenses

ASHEBORO, N.C. — A High Point man has been arrested on several charges related to sex crimes against children, according to the Asheboro Police Department.

Police say Graham Allen Smith, 60, was arrested Wednesday as part of a joint investigation between the Asheboro and Randleman police departments.

The alleged crimes were committed in Asheboro in 2010 and in Randleman between 2011 and 2012, police said.

Smith is charged with one count of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sexual offense, three counts of attempted sexual offense and seven counts of indecent liberties with a child.

The suspect is being held in the Randolph County Jail under a $1.5 million secured bond.
