Greensboro police investigate shooting

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police have taken a suspect into custody who allegedly tried shooting a man.

Police said 26-year-old Harviere Anton Tarpley faces various charges including assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm within city limits and simple assault.

Police said the suspect surrendered after a police standoff at Northwinds Apartments on Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
