Dehumidifiers recalled due to fire risk

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced 12 brands of dehumidifiers have been recalled, stating the devices can overheat, smoke and catch fire.

More than $2 million in property damage has already been reported.

The dehumidifiers were sold under the brand names Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima.

A refund will be offered on affected models.
