Man, woman arrested in child sex assault case in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police say a man and woman were arrested Sunday as a result of an investigation into claims that a child was sexually assaulted.

According to police, officers responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a sex offense involving a child at an apartment at 1148 East 5th St.

After they arrived, police say they learned the child had been sexually assaulted.

Ronald Perry Jr., 37, and Patricia Renee Lee, 37, were both arrested as a result of the investigation, police said.

Perry is charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a minor and one count of statutory sex offense, while Lee is charged with three counts of felony child abuse.

Perry is being held under a $650,000 secured bond. Lee is being held under a $180,000 secured bond.

Police say they are not releasing the suspects' mugshots because the investigation is ongoing.
