GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Tires were flattened on several cars along I-40 in Greensboro on Monday morning after a vehicle being towed by a tractor-trailer came loose from the truck.

Police and witnesses said the tow connection between the vehicle and the truck broke, leaving a large piece of debris in the middle of I-40 just east of the I-74 interchange.

Police helped drivers change flat tires while others waited for roadside assistance.

No injuries were reported.
