Woman charged with assaulting man, 3-year-old in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a woman was arrested Wednesday night after she assaulted a man and his three-year-old daughter with a sharp object.

The assault was reported shortly before 8:45 p.m. at an apartment at 604 Eagle Road.

When officers arrived, a man told them 26-year-old Brandi Secrest had assaulted his three-year-old daughter with a “sharp object.” The man said he intervened and a physical altercation followed, during with the man was assaulted with the sharp object, police said.

Police say the man suffered a minor injury to his arm during the altercation. He was treated at the scene by EMS.

The three-year-old was not hurt, police said.

Secrest was arrested at the scene. She is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a minor under 12 and possession of synthetic cannabinoid.

Police are still investigating the incident. They ask that anyone with additional information would call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
