HIGH POINT, N.C. — A European furniture company is considering High Point as one of three locations to base its American manufacturing operations.

BuzziSpace, a Belgian company which designs and manufactures furniture and acoustical treatments, is considering the empty 105,000-sq. ft. building at 1200 Redding Dr., formerly the Pickett Cotton Mill and most recently Claude Gable Co.

If the space is chosen, the company would bring with it 113 full-time jobs over a period of five years, with an average pay of $41,011. Jobs would include manufacturing and distribution, customer service and office and management positions.

High Point City Council will consider authorizing up to $162,000 in incentives at a public hearing on September 16. Guilford County will consider $113,000 in incentives at its meeting on September 19.

The city is being considered for the projet along with two out-of state-locations.

The state is also considering participating in the project.
