WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — As part of Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful’s annual campaign to improve its urban canopy, the city has received a grant for $10,000 to add more than 500 trees to the Castle Heights neighborhood.

Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful says the neighborhood is the perfect place to plant trees because of its open space.

The city will be planting several different tree varieties on Community Roots Day in late October.
