BURLINGTON, N.C. — The board of directors of Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministry in Alamance County said it had to close its doors because of money.

The board said in a statement released Saturday that expenses were cut to the bare minimum and food distribution was reduced to just two days a week.

Officials said they weren’t getting the donations needed to stay open. The board said the building and all other assets will be sold.

Loaves and Fishes has been operating for nearly 15 years and has helped feed nearly 7,000 people every month.
