Pepsi-flavored Cheetos are the latest bizarre snack craze to hit store shelves in Japan.

The Frito Lay Cheetos x Pepsi Shuwa Shuwa Cola Corn Snack are Cheetos that are covered in a “fizz-inducing cola powder.”

According to The Impulsive Buy review, the snack actually fizzes in your mouth with a “definite popping and crackling.”

What about the taste? The review says the Cheetos have a strong citrus taste and a “flat cola” aroma. It also says that the snack emits the smell of cinnamon donuts.

The Los Angeles Times quotes the Impulsive Buy’s Steve, who describes the horror in detail:

“The first sensation, which I did not expect, was a very acidic bite. It tries to capture the citrus notes of Pepsi, but it’s over the top. Too lemony. The sweeter cola flavor is there but it’s subtler and overpowered by the intense citrus.”

When The Los Angeles Times asked PepsiCo spokesman Jeff Dahncke if the chip flavor would be making its way to the U.S., he simply replied, “The answer is no,” with no further explanation.

Want to try the bizarre snack? You can buy a bag off of eBay and have it shipped to their home.
