DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — To help offset budget cuts, Davie County teacher assistants agreed to cut their hours and number of days they work this school year.

During the 2013-2014 school year, teach assistants will only work a maximum of six hours each day. They will also work 207 days this year, instead of 215.

As part of the agreement, teacher assistants will not be laid off or lose their benefits.
