3 arrested after armed robbery in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say three people were arrested Sunday night after a man was robbed at gunpoint at his Greensboro home.
The robbery was reported shortly after 8:15 p.m. at 1003 Palmetto St.
The victim told police he went inside his home with an acquaintance when the acquaintance displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect ran away headed south toward Circle Drive after receiving an unknown amount of cash.
Police say they were searching the area when they spotted a vehicle that was suspected of being involved in the robbery. When officers tried stopping the vehicle, a passenger got out of the car and ran away.
The passenger, who was identified as 22-year-old Dezren Mikell, was arrested after a brief foot chase, police said. The driver of the suspect vehicle, 23-year-old Payton Maxwell, was also taken into custody. The suspect who committed the robbery, 23-year-old Kevin Jones, was also later found and arrested.
Police say all three suspects are charged with common law robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Mikell and Maxwell were also charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
