WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The city, Winston-Salem State University Nurses Alumni Organization and the Triad Association of Black Journalists are teaming up with morning Star Baptist Church for Outreach Day Saturday.

The goal of the event is to help low-income families in the Piedmont make ends meet and stay healthy.

There will be several free services including health screenings, diet advice and job advice. Free food and other giveaways will also be offered.

“It makes you feel excited when you get members of the church who are willing to spearhead initiatives to reach out to the community, and send a message that we care,” said Pastor Dennis Leach.

Outreach Day takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Morning Star Baptist Church on Finch St. in Winston-Salem.
