NC DOT awards $6 million for bridge repair in Guilford County

The Department of Transportation has awarded over $6 million to repair 9 bridges in Guilford County.

The work is expected to begin as early as August 1, and are expected to end by November 2014.

In Greensboro, the U.S. 220 bridge over Interstate 85, the Bessemer Avenue bridge over U.S. 220 and the bridge on Freeman Mill Road over West Lee St., as well as the bridges over U.S. 421 north and south over Alamance Creek and the Wendover Ave. bridge over U.S. 220  will all be repaired.

The DOT also awarded a million dollars to repair 8 bridges in Alamance County
