Man killed on railroad tracks in Burlington identified

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a man was hit and killed by a train Saturday night in Burlington.

Burlington police said the incident happened around 6:15 p.m. between the Gilmer Street railroad crossing and the Broad Street overpass.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Reginald Jerome Clark of Burlington. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Amtrak train was reportedly scheduled to arrive in Burlington around 6 p.m. and runs a daily route from New York City to Charlotte.
