Two injured in head-on crash in Davidson Co.

A Lexington woman was charged with driving while impaired after she allegedly hit another driver in a head-on crash, hospitalizing both of them.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities said two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash Saturday afternoon outside of Tyro.

The wreck was reported around 2:25 p.m. in the 2700 block of Tyro Road and involved two cars hitting each other head-on and a third vehicle that tried to avoid the wreck.

The two victims are listed in critical condition. One was airlifted to Charlotte and the other taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Their names have not been released.

Authorities said that charges are pending. No other information was immediately available.
