Wake Forest Baptist ranks among best hospitals in the country

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — For the second year in a row, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center ranks among the best hospitals in the country, according to a U.S. News & World Report survey.

Wake Forest Baptist was ranked among the nation’s top 50 hospitals in 12 of the categories, with a high mark of eighth in nephrology, a kidney speciality.

Other specialities that made the top 25 include cancer, pulmonology, ear and throat and diabetes and endocrinology.

It was the only Triad hospital to be ranked in at least one top 50 category. Duke University Medical Center was the only hospital in the state to have a higher overall performance with 13 rankings.
