TRINITY, N.C. — A man who led Davidson County deputies on a vehicle pursuit on Tuesday was arrested after he jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving.

Officers stopped a 1996 Oldsmobile on northbound I-85 at mile marker 103 in Thomasville early Tuesday. Deputies said the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Charlotte.

The driver, Bryon Keith Robinson, 44, of Charlotte, drove away and led deputies on a pursuit.

The pursuit ended in Trinity when the driver jumped from the vehicle as it was moving and ran from the scene. The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with their K-9 Unit to locate Robinson in a wooded area off Meadowbrook Road in Trinity.

Robinson was charged with possession of stolen vehicle, felony fleeing to elude, careless and reckless driving and other related charges.

His court date is set for Aug. 28.
