GREENSBORO, N.C. — Armed robbers have targeted a Greensboro Food Lion store for the second time in about a week.

The robbery was reported shortly after 10:45 p.m. Monday at the Food Lion at 3516 Drawbridge Parkway.

Police say a female employee and two other workers were inside the store when two men who were wearing ski masks and armed with handguns entered the store. The suspects held the female employee at gunpoint while they stole an undetermined amount of cash.

None of the employees were hurt.

Ample suspect descriptions were not available, although surveillance photos were provided.

A similar robbery occurred late Sunday night at the Food Lion at 2208 Golden Gate Drive. In that incident, police say a male employee who was gathering shopping carts in the parking lot of the store was approached by a man who was armed with a handgun and had his face covered with a bandana.

The suspect “repeatedly struck” the employee with the gun before forcing him inside the store, police said. Once inside, police say the suspect held the victim and two other employees at gunpoint.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect, but it was not clear if the suspect has been identified.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
