GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Police have increased patrols downtown to ensure teenagers are obeying the new curfew.

Police say there are about 10 officers normally patrolling downtown on Friday and Saturday nights, but will have an additional 15 officers in the area this weekend.

The curfew went into effect on July 3, after hundreds of teenagers were found fighting in the streets on a Saturday night. It bans anyone under the age of 17 from downtown Greensboro between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
