FRANKLIN, Va. — A 31-year-old caregiver faces attempted murder and burglary charges after the alleged assault of a 67-year-old quadriplegic man earlier this month, WTKR is reporting.

According to WTKR, Phillip Everette, who is paralyzed from the waist down, was in his bed on July 1 when his caregiver, Erica Shandrika Bradshaw, told police she found Everette suffering from lacerations to his face.

The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office says Bradshaw was arrested after detectives developed probable cause through interviews and anonymous tips, according to WTKR.

Bradshaw is charged with attempted murder, burglary with the intent to commit murder, and grand larceny. She is being held without bond.
