Lexington receives $27 million for public housing renovations

LEXINGTON, N.C. — The Lexington Housing Authority has received $27 million dollar federal grant to help renovate its public housing units.

The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Rental Assistance Demonstration.

Lexington was one of seven housing authorities in North Carolina to be selected for the initiative.

The renovations will being next year.
