Hundreds of residents remain without power Monday morning after overnight storms downed trees and knocked out power to hundreds across the Piedmont.

As of 7 a.m., Duke Energy reported more than 600 customers in Stokes County, nearly 300 in Rockingham County, and more than 100 in Forsyth County were still without power.

About an hour earlier, nearly 1,700 customers were listed as without power in Forsyth County.

There was no estimate as to when electricity would be fully restored.
