CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a man in connection to a body found inside a car in east Charlotte on Monday night.

The Charlotte Observer reported that 33-year-old Keith Tyrone Henderson has been charged with murder in the death of 35-year-old Eric Lacey Stokes.

Police said they found Stokes’ body after being called to a parking lot near an apartment complex in the 7100 block of Snow Lane around 9 p.m.

Police said they started focusing their investigation on Henderson after speaking with neighbors.

Police said Henderson told them he had gotten into some kind of argument with Stokes earlier in the day.

Charlotte police said Stokes apparently was injured in an altercation, but did not discuss the injuries in detail.

The suspect was placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail and has court planned for Wednesday.
