ASHEBORO, N.C. — The N.C. Zoo plans to host “Bear Necessities” on Saturday, an event featuring grizzly, polar and black bears.

Zoo officials said the event will explore the lives of bears and will be highlighted with keeper talks, information stations and educational displays.

Officials said it is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the bear exhibits.

A “Teddy Bear Clinic” for the young visitors is also planned outside the North America entrance.

Visitors can bring their stuffed bears for a check-up with zoo veterinary staff.

All bear activities are free with paid admission.

Visit the N.C. Zoo’s website for more details and listings of other events.
