WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Thousands are participating in Ribfest, a barbecue festival currently taking place in Winston-Salem.

The three-day event is taking place in the Winston-Salem Journal’s parking lot bordered by Fifth and Marshall streets downtown.

Several barbecue vendors will be participating.

The event started Thursday and will last through Sunday. It runs until 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $7 or free for children 12 and under.
