Smith Reynolds Airport tower to remain open through September

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Smith Reynolds Air Traffic Control Tower will stay open through September.

The tower was one of nearly 150 towers planned to close in June because of budget cuts.

But Congress passed a new bill last month allowing the FAA to change how it budgets its funding.
