Temperatures dropping by nearly 10 degrees for today

A cold front traveled across North Carolina overnight and in its wake will be cooler temperatures for Thursday.

Highs on Thursday — topping out around 67 degrees — will be nearly 10 degrees cooler than Wednesday.

Skies will become mostly sunny in the afternoon, but have your tissues handy if you get outside because tree pollen will be at high levels.

Clear skies with bright moonlight will make for a beautiful night.  Temperatures will be unseasonably chilly, settling to 44 degrees by daybreak Friday.  Winds will be light.

Friday is going to be gorgeous and perfect for your outdoor plans!  Mostly sunny with highs near 70 degrees are a super way to end the work week.

If you’re headed to Merlefest, expect showers to move in just in time for the weekend shows.
