Man killed in shooting outside Greensboro apartment building

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Wednesday night as a homicide.

According to police, 28-year-old Michael Thomas McLaurin died after being shot during a disturbance in the parking lot of the Margate on Cone Apartments in the 900 block of East Cone Boulevard.

The shooting was reported shortly after 11:45 p.m.  McLaurin, who lived at 928 East Cone Blvd., was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police say a suspect description and motive for the shooting are not available at this time.
