Man dies from injuries in Greensboro hit-and-run; suspect still sought

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police say a man has died from injuries he sustained over the weekend in a hit-and-run as detectives continue to search for the suspect.

Police say Calvin Gerome Hendrix, 39, died as a result of his injuries from the collision, which occurred shortly before 4:15 a.m. Saturday while the victim was crossing High Point Road near West Court Street.

Officers are still searching for the suspect vehicle, which witnesses described as a gray Dodge Magnum.  Witnesses said the Magnum sped away from the scene immediately after the collision.

The suspect vehicle was last seen heading south on High Point Road.  Police say the car’s driver’s-side mirror was knocked off as a result of the collision.
