Volunteers deliver food in Winston-Salem for backpack program

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Volunteers teamed up with God’s Mountain Calvary Church in Winston-Salem to delivery more than 60 backpacks full of personal care items and food.

Organizers said it was all part of “Project Backpack,” which seeks to serve people in need in the Piedmont.

Participants said the program serves the community the first Sunday of every month in Winston-Salem. Organizers said the program is a rewarding experience.
