IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Many schools in North Carolina are making safety improvement and Iredell County is installing buzz-in locks with cameras.

Visitors have to state their name and explain why they are there before they are allowed in.

The fronts of some schools are even being remodeled to give police a clear path to the office.

School officials said they expect all safety renovations to be done by the end of spring.
