Gate City Half-marathon this weekend in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Gate City Half-marathon will be held Saturday in Greensboro, prompting numerous road closures.

Road closures will include:

  • Elm Street between Friendly Avenue and Bellemeade Street from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Davie Street between Friendly and Summit Avenue from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Elm Street between Bellemeade Street and Elmwood Drive from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m.
  • Lawndale Drive North between Colonial Avenue and Dellwood Drive from 7 to11 a.m.
  • Smith Street between Greene and Elm Street from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m.
  • Murrow Boulevard North and Fisher Avenue between Lindsay and Elm Street from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m.
  • Other streets along the race routes will also have partial closures beginning at 7:30 a.m. as runners make their way through

All roadways are expected to reopen to traffic at 2 p.m.

Online registration for the race has closed, but those who are interested can still pre-register at the Sheraton Greensboro at 3121 High Point Road between noon and 10 p.m. Friday.

On-site registration will be from 6 to 7:30 a.m. at the Center City Park Pavilion, located at 200 North Elm St.
