FANCY GAP, Va.--In Fancy Gap, Virginia the locals have a love hate relationship for Thursday's late snowfall.

"It's still pretty, even if you are getting a little tired of it," said one motorist.

Out-of-towners like Becky Ferguson, who drove all the way to Virginia from Florida, were surprised by the spring snow.

"I didn't think they would have snow here," she exclaimed.

The snowy mix started coming down early on Thursday afternoon, dusting the trees and roadways--adding up to only a couple of inches overall.

"We looked out the window, and it was just coming down like crazy! You couldn't even see the parking lot," said one woman at a local diner.

The Virginia Highway Patrol had five minor accidents on I-77 within a 15 mile stretch.

"I hit the snow, then say on I-77 for 45 minutes, until they cleared a couple of accidents," one motorist said.

David Beamer, a Fancy Gap local, wouldn't have put money down on snow in April.

"Right now, it looks like a losing situation. We lost," he said as he scratched off his lottery tickets.
