Wake County teacher accused of sex offenses with student

RALEIGH, N.C. – A Wake County teacher assistant and former football player at North Carolina State University is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

WTVD reported that Javon Lerail Walker, 25, of Raleigh, was arrested Monday.

Wake County Public Schools confirmed Walker was employed as a teacher assistant at Leesville Road High School until he resigned Monday. Officials said he was hired last September.

The suspect has been charged with four counts of sex offenses with a student. Specific details were not released.

Walker played for N.C. State from 2007 until 2009. His career was ended by persistent knee injuries.

The suspect received a $200,000 bond.
