Logistics company to expand operations in Charlotte

XPO Logistics, Inc., a third-party transportation logistics provider, said Tuesday that it will expand its North American operations center in Charlotte, creating 287 new jobs by the end of 2014 and spending $688,000 in capital investments, the Winston-Salem Journal reports.

The company entered the Charlotte market in February 2012 when it announced it would create more than 200 jobs within three years. The company said it has 245 jobs at its Charlotte operations.

XPO provides freight transportation services to ground, sea and air carriers and offers expedited services, freight forwarding and freight brokerage to customers in North America.
