GRAHAM — Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson was in the hospital again Monday, but it wasn’t related to a heart attack suffered earlier this year and he should return to work part-time soon, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office told the Burlington Times News.

“It’s more of a muscular issue,” said sheriff’s department spokesman Randy Jones. Johnson went to Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday and stayed overnight as a precautionary measure.

He was released by Tuesday afternoon.

“We think maybe he strained a muscle coughing,” Jones said. “You don’t take chances with what he’s had.”

On Feb. 2, Johnson suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized at Duke University Medical Center after bypass surgery. He was released about two weeks later, and though Johnson hasn’t returned to work full-time, Jones said, “He’s actually doing quite well.”
