RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Wildlife Commission wants to bring back hunting with guns on Sundays.

The commission met to adopt a resolution in support of the senate bill to reintroduce firearms to Sunday hunting.

In 2009, the commission approved hunting with archery equipment on Sundays.

Under the resolution, people would be able to hunt with firearms on Sunday on private land.

Hunting on Sunday had been against the law in North Carolina for nearly 150 years.
