Woman struck by SUV, killed in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after they said a woman was hit and killed by a SUV Wednesday morning in Raleigh.

WTVD reported that it happened shortly before midnight on New Bern Avenue at Seawell Avenue. Authorities have not released the identity of the woman.

Police said she was in the middle of the road when she was hit. They said the driver immediately stopped to help her.

Officials said the woman was then taken to the hospital and later died. Police said the driver of the SUV will not face any charges.
