Police: Robbery suspect tackled by witnesses at Food Lion

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a Browns Summit man was arrested after he was tackled by witnesses when he attempted to take money from a cash register at a grocery store.

According to police, David Jomil Dalton, 40, was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Food Lion on Hicone Road.

Police say Dalton attempted to take cash from a register before he was tackled by witnesses.

Afterward, police say they linked Dalton to a similar robbery that occurred about five hours earlier at the Circle K at 3602 Rehobeth Church Road.

Dalton is being held under a $50,000 secured bond in the Greensboro Central Jail.
