Man robbed at knifepoint in Burlington, suspect sought

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a suspect after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Burlington.

The robbery was reported around 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of South Lexington Avenue.

Police say the suspect, an unidentified man, approached the victim and asked for a cigarette.  The suspect then pulled out a knife and demanded money, police said.

The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and was not injured, police said.

The suspect was last seen running west on South Lexington Avenue.

He is described as a black male between 30 and 40 years old standing about 6’1″ tall and weighing about 200 lbs.  He was wearing a black hooded shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.
