1 1/2 pounds of marijuana seized in Alamance County

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Deputies say they seized more than a pound and a half of marijuana Friday morning after searching two Alamance County home.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies searched two homes in the 2600 block of William Allen Road on Friday morning.

During the search, deputies say they seized 772.5 grams of pot, $2,029 in cash, and “assorted” drug paraphernalia.

Xavier Leonard Thaxton, 29, was arrested.  He is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thaxton was jailed under a $20,000 secured bond.

Deputies said the search was “part of a series of ongoing investigations.”
