STOKES COUNTY, N.C. – Officials with the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation have named Robin Kalish as the new superintendent of Hanging Rock State Park.

Authorities said Kalish has been a ranger at Jordan Lake State Natural Area since 1999 and was primarily responsible for the Poplar Point access.

She succeeds Dave Cook who was promoted to north district superintendent in 2012.

She has experience with the Ohio state parks system, the Hocking County Sheriff’s Department and as a seasonal employee at Jordan Lake.

“Robin brings solid ranger experience and a profound affection for our natural resources to the job as superintendent at Hanging Rock State Park,” said Lewis Ledford, state parks director, according to a prepared statement.
