Deputies: Man tried to get children into his truck in Ruffin

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies said they are searching for a man accused of trying to get two children into his pickup truck Sunday in Ruffin.

Officials with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said that two children in the 400 block of NC 700 told them a man stopped in front of them and motioned them to get in.

The suspect was reportedly a black male wearing a blond wig wearing a red plaid shirt and red pants and driving a red pickup.

Deputies said the children ran inside and the suspect drove off.
