DALLAS, N.C. — A North Carolina woman was arrested Thursday on accusations that she lured a friend to be raped by a man.

According to WSOC, June Vazquez is charged with rape despite that she never touched the victim.  Carlos Romero — the man accused of the rape — has not been apprehended.

The victim tells WSOC she once considered Vazquez a friend.  She told police Vazquez invited her to her apartment in Dallas to look at pictures of Venezuela — their native country.

The victim says Vazquez told her the pictures were on a computer in the bedroom.  Police say Vazquez then held the victim’s two young children while she went into the bedroom, where Romero locked the door and raped her.

The suspect threatened the victim in an effort to prevent her from reporting the crime.  When she did two months later, WSOC reports the suspects had moved.

“It took a while to get full names and locations,” Sgt. Lee Stoneburner told WSOC.

Police believe Romero is still in the area.
