Emergency cold weather shelter opens in Winston-Salem

An emergency cold weather homeless shelter opens its doors tonight in Winston-Salem.

Located at First Baptist Church in downtown, the entrance to the 30-capacity shelter is along Spruce Street.

Doors open at 8:15 p.m., and the overnight facility will operate through February 28th. Operations are a joint effort between downtown congregations, the City of Winston-Salem and several non-profits.
