Pedestrian killed while crossing road in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. – Officials said a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross the road Monday evening in Durham.

WTVD reported that the incident happened around 6 p.m. in the 2900 block of Guess Road, just south of Carver Street.

Police said the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a pick-up truck.

Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.

The investigation is ongoing. It remains uncertain if charges will be filed.
